Once Nearly Extinct: Adorable Baby Western Quolls Discovered Thriving in Australia’s Wild Sanctuary!

Researchers in Australia have made an exciting discovery at the Mt Gibson Wildlife Sanctuary: a litter of newborn western quolls, once-endangered, spiky little creatures.

These carnivorous marsupials, formerly widespread across Australia, had almost vanished, now only surviving in small populations in the southwest.

However, recent reintroduction efforts at the sanctuary have proven successful, with the arrival of these new babies signaling a growing population. Ecologist Georgina Anderson reported that consistent monitoring confirms the quolls are adapting well to their environment. This success brings renewed hope for the western quoll’s future in Australia.
